Good Portuguese food! I love shrimp Mozambique. My dad usually gets the steak. So it's pretty good. Good service and a nice little Portuguese restaurant.

First my wife ordered the Chicken Parmagion. I ordered the Barbacue Chicken. We waited 15 minutes, before the waiter approached us and said that they had no Parmagion. I thought, "It took 15 minutes before the waiter realized they didn't have my wife's dish?" She then ordered the House Steak. We were the first couple in the restaurant, and yet we waited what seemed like a long time. While waiting, we asked the waitress if she could turn on the music for ambiance, She stated she would ask. She never came back with an answer, and the music never came on. Our entrées finally came, and believe me, it was terrible: My wife's steak was raw, my chicken burnt and dry. The Calamari was bland. Then to top it off, you have to leave through the bar, while a bunch of men stare at your wife. More men outside smoking cigarettes, etc. In short, not a place to take a lady. The foods is lousy. And the service just as bad.

I'm a fan of any restaurant that offers really good and affordable food and especially wine. So dollar for dollar, I give it 4 stars due to the reasonable price/quality ratio as it beats most restaurant chains and in many cases healthier and cheaper then fast food/pizza joints. I have been told that they can be inconsistent in terms of quality and flavor... but they are under new management since then.

This is nice intimate restaurant. The waitstaff is very friendly. The appetizers were fun, especially the Chorico a Bombeiro. The price is portioned to portion size. Dinner is delicious. There is live music at night.

This was recommended by a very portuguese friend and billed it as the type of food you would get at somebody's home in portugal. He was not kidding. Generous portions, friendly staff and delicious food. What was unexpected was the sharing of how the food was prepared in detail. I had several Ah-Ha moments when i found out what was in some dishes I was eating. I tried octopus for the first time - tasty, but I have no point of refernce. The pork with littlenecks and the seafood "casserole" are worth the trip to this tiny off the road restaurant.

It wasn't bad per se, it just wasn't anything special. I went here with my wife's side of the family as a relative from Portugal was visiting so they wanted to take him to a Portuguese restaurant. None of us had been here before so we didn't know what to expect; I had the pork and littlenecks and while it was a decent dish, they were swimming in a brown gravy sauce that seemed out of place (it's never served this way at other Portuguese restaurants I go to). They also served bread and butter with no plate so we had to put the rolls on the tablecloth...odd. My wife's grandmother didn't seem to be enjoying her chicken dish and she kept on trying to say that she just wasn't used to eating big meals late at night, but after I pressed her a couple of times she finally admitted that the chicken was dry (it certainly looked dry). There were a bunch of people playing cards and drinking beer outside when we were leaving...that looked like fun. Unfortunately though, this isn't a place I will go back to in the future as there are many better Portuguese food options in East Providence.

This place is horrific. I have been twice, the first time last year and most recently about 2 months ago. The calamari comes with a "seafood sauce" that is tasteless, no peppers, no nothing. Then.. I ordered the Pork and Potatoes, they charge you $16 for the meal but then decrease the size of the plates! They do not even cook it in a wine sauce, the sauce is more of a beef stock/ beef gravy packet, not even a hint of wine in it. I was so upset at the fact that they increase the price but then decrease the plate! I only had come here because Phillips St was on vacation, I will never go here again... ever. you are paying more for less.. that's all.

We had a party of 9, on a Tuesday night - just a group of friends - we get together once a year - and we were not only impressed with the food, but the service was fantastic. Appropriately attentive, not obsequious. The food was really fantastic, and the wine was decent - not over priced. We plan to go back for an encore.
